Abstract
A structural engineer’s work in the developing countries involves the design of innovative
and outstanding structures which brings down costs by designing economical structures
and utilizing local materials and labour. However a structural engineer is often called upon
to respond to natural disasters like earthquakes and cyclones where he has to use his skill
to rebuild entire villages.
